Quinoa–Lose Weight–Rejuvenate Your Body–Feel Energized!

Eating nutritious foods that promote healthy weight loss and improve energy levels and moods is found in quinoa. This is one of the extraordinary nutrient-dense foods with many important healing properties.

The health of our brain, like any organ, depends upon a supply of nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, which also play a role in our psychological health. A study published in the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture in 2010 found that quinoa provides key antioxidants. These antioxidants protect our cell membranes for healthy brain neuronal functions.

Quinoa is an easy solution on a busy day for a nutritious meal that is easy to make, increases energy, and supports emotional balance and healthy weight loss.

This may look like a grain, but in fact it is a seed of a broadleaf plant. Quinoa contains all of the essential amino acids and provides micronutrients, such as B-vitamins, iron, zinc, potassium, calcium and vitamin E, which promote good health. With having a very good source of magnesium, this mineral relaxes blood vessels and calms the body. It is a clean source of protein and does not contain cholesterol like animal and dairy products. Gluten free, it is easy digest. It also has fiber to help support a healthy digestive track.

How can quinoa be part of the solution to satisfying your hunger? Unlike simple carbs that spike blood sugar levels that soon leave us hungry, quinoa is a slow burning carbohydrate. This helps to break down sugar levels, provide satiety (fullness) and control our hunger.

An easy recipe for quinoa can be found on my blog post. Be inspired and enjoy good health!

Healthy Weight Loss-Legumes!

So who says you can’t eat great tasting food and look and feel wonderful? One of my passions is to explore nutrition dense foods that support healthy weight loss and promote good health. Here is my recipe for a delicious soup for weight loss paired with nutrition…not to mention an enjoyable meal!

Northern white beans are referred to as ‘white legumes’ and are an important food group for nutrition, weight loss, digestive health, sugar regulation, and to lower your cholesterol.

Legumes provide the body with good fats such as omega 3 fatty acids, protein, and vitamins. They are a rich mineral source with potassium, magnesium, and zinc. As far as getting a meal for your digestive health, my Divine Northern Bean Soup provides both types of fiber!

According to Harvard School of Public Health soluble fiber binds to fatty substances in the intestines and carries them out as a waste, thus lowering bad cholesterol. It also helps regulate the body’s use of sugars, helping to keep hunger and blood sugar in check.

Enjoy your health!
